Running with Jesus
Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
("And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.")
As you noticed this morning I did a little pause from Luke because I had something interesting to share with you and this may be just for me but I felt I needed to share, so here goes!
I type most of my devotions on my phone because it is so easy to Google my text to post the scripture to save time. So I began to go and read my text from my phone first thing and then meditate. I went through a period where I felt my devotions were getting dry and less meat! I prayed and ask God what was going on. I realized I reached less and less for my written Bible. Now I have always prayed that I would never be without a copy of His Word till I die! That is my life line. So the next day I reached for the written Word and placed it in my lap and even as I type this it is laying in my lap and I feel the energy and warmth of Its presence. As I opened the Word that day a steady stream began to flow from my finger tips! I know we live in a day with modern technology and some need it to even be able to hear or read the Bible. For me, however, there is nothing like holding the Bible in my hands because I can get all of God, Who helps and comforts me to run my race for life! I pray my kids read this and bury me with a Bible! I love my Lord and His Word it is sweet as the honey from the honey comb. I am just saying some people would love one page and we have It all!
Oh Father, thank You for Your Word and the freedom to hold It. We need to be sure we don't let technology make the written Bible become extinct, Satan hates the written Word!
Just the sight of a Bible can put him in his place! So take time to hold your Bible close to your chest and treasure having the privilege of having one! I sleep with mine sometimes for comfort when it has been one of those days!
A big lesson on teaching, tomorrow!
