Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

("And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.")

As you noticed this morning I did a little pause from Luke because I had something interesting to share with you and this may be just for me but I felt I needed to share, so here goes!

I type most of my devotions on my phone because it is so easy to Google my text to post the scripture to save time. So I began to go and read my text from my phone first thing and then meditate. I went through a period where I felt my devotions were getting dry and less meat! I prayed and ask God what was going on. I realized I reached less and less for my written Bible. Now I have always prayed that I would never be without a copy of His Word till I die! That is my life line. So the next day I reached for the written Word and placed it in my lap and even as I type this it is laying in my lap and I feel the energy and warmth of Its presence. As I opened the Word that day a steady stream began to flow from my finger tips! I know we live in a day with modern technology and some need it to even be able to hear or read the Bible. For me, however, there is nothing like holding the Bible in my hands because I can get all of God, Who helps and comforts me to run my race for life! I pray my kids read this and bury me with a Bible! I love my Lord and His Word it is sweet as the honey from the honey comb.  I am just saying some people would love one page and we have It all!

Oh Father, thank You for Your Word and the freedom to hold It. We need to be sure we don't let technology make the written Bible become extinct, Satan hates the written Word!

Just the sight of a Bible can put him in his place! So take time to hold your Bible close to your chest and treasure having the privilege of having one! I sleep with mine sometimes for comfort when it has been one of those days!

A big lesson on teaching, tomorrow!

Luke 16:29-31  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

(But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’  And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’   He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’)

Jesus is telling the story about the rich man and the beggar and the ears of the Pharisee's, religious but not regenerated born again believers, are tuned in and they got an ear full!  Notice when the rich man in hell looks up he sees Lazarus in Abraham's bosom and then he has a conversation with Abraham, the Pharisee's took pride in him being their Father, asking and begging him to send someone to keeps his brothers from coming to hell where he was in torment. He ask for someone from the dead to go and tell them and Abraham told him he already had sent the Law and the Prophets and they didn't listen to them they wouldn't listen to one who would be raised from the dead! This angered the Pharisee's because they equated being rich as favored by God and doing rituals. They wanted to kill Jesus! Sound like some we know today that want to do away with Jesus!

Well here we have it, Jesus died and arose and Father Abraham was right! The Law and the Prophets foretold Jesus would come! People today will not listen. People say God would not send people to hell, He doesn't, man chooses to not believe and choose their own destination. It is not God's will any perish but all come to repentance.

The Religious will let you mention God all day but say Jesus and you have trouble on your hands! Why, because to acknowledge Christ you have to admit you are a sinner, to admit you are a sinner you have to admit there is a hell and you have to make a choice!

Hallelujah, I made my choice a long time ago and I am set free heaven bound! Heaven is a real place and I want to go there! I am so glad I run with Jesus because we are running straight to heaven! Ok I am In shouting mode! Going to heaven! Now that ought to get you in a good mood this morning if not get in the race with Jesus today!

Father,  all I can say is thank You for Jesus! Praying doors open to share You today and for eyes and ears to see and hear truth!

There is a stop and rest from Luke in the morning and I am going to share a personal matter I had a talk with God about! So sit with me a moment at the resting spot! Grab a refreshment!

Luke 16:22-23  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

(The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.)

We all are familiar with this story of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus! The Pharisee's equated wealth as proof of being righteous. I think we are guilty of putting this mind set into our mode of thinking. We often begin saying things like if they walked with God and do all these things they would not be in this shape. We need to be careful because we don't always see the whole picture! This beggar died and went to heaven and the rich went to hell. I am also reminded of Job, lost his kids, crops and health! Be careful judging and teaching people everything will be hunky dory if you follow Jesus and remember obeying God took Jesus to death on a cross!

Father help us lean not to our own understanding but let this mind be in us that is in Christ Jesus. Without the beggar’s story and Job's life many would remain lost.

Blessings sometimes come through trials and suffering and the beggar’s and Job's lives are still helping people in this world thousands of years later!

Going to be shouting in the morning!!! Meet me! I am hallelujahing now! (Lol if hallelujahing is a word!)

Running with Jesus

Luke 16: 13-15 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.  And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.  And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

(“No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.  And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.”)

God knows the heart! Our thoughts and desires are not disclosed for us to see but God sees and knows every thought and intent.  America and sadly the church has developed a Pharisee mentality. If you run through these last few chapters of Luke, Jesus keeps revealing the condition of their hearts. He preaches one sermon after another dealing with all the Ten Commandments. In this chapter he deals with covetousness, cheating, adultery, forgiveness, jealousy and putting love of money above God. They had the first commandment out of place and fell into disobedience in all the other areas. So it is with us we cannot serve God and mammon (wealth regarded as an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion), we love one and hate the other.

This is true when we dive off into sin we begin to make excuses over and over and justify our actions but God is seeing and knows when we justify we walk out into self-righteousness and we fall short of His glory! We begin to move further from God. Our country has moved so far! The body of Christ has moved so far it looks like the world.

Father,  keep our hearts in line with Your Word and help us live by your principles and guide lines. There is none righteous but Jesus. We surrender our hearts, mind, and thoughts to You this morning.  We declare we are Your child and surrender to walk in obedience to You!

Making a daily declaration helps keep our souls in Christ!

Tomorrow: The rich man and Lazarus!

Running with Jesus

Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

("One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.)

Be faithful in little things. Sometimes we are always waiting on the big thing to happen to us! I see people like this looking for jobs! They want a job that makes 6 digit figures. Instead of taking the small paying job God provided, they pass up opportunities set before them and one day they don't get the big one because they have no resume! We never know what lies ahead for us if we don't take the little steps. Babies crawl before they learn to walk. Integrity and responsibility are running short in this generation. God is watching us and it doesn't matter what position you hold but what matters is how well we do what has been given us to do. We run in a world system that categorizes everyone and everything! God looks at our heart and watches our attitude. As I get old (lol) I see everything I do as an opportunity to serve and God opening doors for a mission field in my life. At home I serve my husband and my kids. At work I serve my boss and the kids then I watch my mission field for ripe souls to pick. It might be a grandchild I get to lead to Christ or a coworker! We have to realize we are placed in places for divine appointments by God! We work for Him! He goes before us and leads us to be on mission with Him. So let's change our attitude about work and where you go. Let's be faithful to the little things He gives us to do and leave the big stuff to Him! Be faithful where you are placed! You get to help someone!

Father, help us be faithful in little things today. Show us who we can serve and help us have joy in doing what You have given us to do. Let Your mind be in us! Help us remember to watch for doors to witness as we work in Your fields.

Running with Jesus keeps our attitude in check. Always get higher than life and work from His point of view.

Tomorrow: A Pharisee mentality!
